You will need to contact the hosting site that provides your e-mail service. We do not assist with password recoveries here due to the nature of phishers and scammers.

That looks like a message from Outlook.com that has sent a verification link to your backup / alternate email
You need to log in to the rocketmail email address & click on the c=verification link before getting access to the Hotmail / outlook one

of course rocketmail is now yahoo mail so you sign in to yahoo.com with the rocketmail username and password

I know they sent an email and i'm supposed to verify through it. Problem is the verification email they sent is sent to the same email I'm trying to log into ... How am I supposed to view it

 

Then I would say that you are not using the correct email address and/or password.

What error message do you get when trying to log in at "rocketmail.com"?

No, yahoo/rocketmail/ymail doesn't send a verification to the same email address.
You specify 1 or 2 or even more recovery email addresses and perhaps a cellphone number. An email will be sent to the recovery email, which has to be different from rocketmail or a code will be sent to a cellphone.

I've had to verify my recovery email addresses with yahoo probably in the past month.

 

That makes sense, its just not what is happening

 

Searching around, might be that the account is disabled. When did it last work? Do you have 2-factor authentication enabled?

 

"We sent an email to johndoe@rocketmail.com to make sure you own it. Please check your inbox and follow the instructions to finish setting up your Microsoft account."

Please confirm:

a. You are trying to set up a Microsoft account (outlook.com? hotmail.com? ??).

b. You gave Microsoft your rocketmail.com address as your alternative email.

c. And now you cannot login to rocketmail.com because they (Yahoo?) do not recognize your account.

 

Rocketmail.com redirects to Yahoo.

mkady, maybe in part (a) above I have the wrong idea about "Microsoft account." Are you actually trying to create a login account for Windows 8, 8.1 or 10 using your rocketmail.com (now yahoo.com) email address?
